Main function of Hydrocyclone

Hesper’s Hydro cyclone is composed of a hollow cylinder in the upper part and an inverted cone connected with the cylinder in the lower part. The two form the working cylinder of the hydrocyclone. 1. Particle separation operation:

The use of hydrocyclones for particle separation operations is to separate solid particles suspended in the liquid phase using particle size, shape, density, etc., and can be classified and sorted during the separation process.

Particle classification operation is to separate solid particles with the same density according to particle size, which can be divided into coarse particles and fine particles. In addition, coarse particles or fine particles can also be removed from the product. In general, two-stage or multi-stage cyclones are used for classification operations, because the classification accuracy of single-layer cyclones is not high.

2. Concentration:

Using hydro cyclones for concentration operations is mainly to reduce the content of the continuous phase liquid in the liquid heterogeneous mixture to obtain high-concentration dispersed phase materials. At the same time, it can also avoid the dispersion of dispersed phase materials caused by the flow of dispersed phase materials from another outlet. loss. When the cyclone concentrates some materials, the volume concentration of the concentrate can be as high as 50% or higher. If it is used in conjunction with a small thickener, the concentration effect will be better.

As a concentration equipment, hydro cyclones are often used for pre-concentration before feeding vacuum filters, screening machines, dehydrators and other equipment; in some cases, they can also replace some larger and more costly gravity settling equipment.

3. Clarification work

The clarification operation of the hydro cyclone is mainly to obtain a clean liquid, or to recover the dispersed phase material in the feed to a large extent. When clarifying, the size of the outlet of the dispersed phase material that requires cyclone parameters must be compatible with the concentration of the dispersed phase material in the feed.

The hydrocyclone has no moving parts, its structure is simple, the production capacity per unit volume is large, and the floor space is small,the cost is low, and the material consumption is small; but its classification efficiency is high grade and fine grading granularity, so its application field is also very wide.
