What’s the reason for inclined installation of hydro cyclone?

The design of hydro cyclone is influenced by the ball mills used in closed circuit grinding. For example, ball mills and rod mills have a continuous feed rate, a constant cycle load, and a constant pulp supply to the cyclone. In contrast, the feed rate and cycle load of mills are variable, so the pulp feed is also variable, the design variables of hydro cyclone generally include cyclone diameter, inlet diameter, overflow outlet diameter and overflow height etc.

If the cyclone is installed obliquely, it is more suitable for the constant bottom flow of variable cycle load, which can reduce the wear of the sand nozzle, but the effect is poor in the high concentration circuit.

The diameter productivity and overflow particle size of a cyclone increased by its diameter. Generally, the efficiency of the large-diameter cyclone separator is poor, and the overflow contains more coarse particles. When the size and shape of the feed inlet increased, the processing capacity increased, the overflow particle size became coarser, and the classification efficiency decreased.
