When corrugated expansion joint need designed with internal sleeve
As a pipe connection device, the Bellows expansion joint can reduce vibration and noise in the pipe system, and can absorb the thermal expansion and contraction which caused by temperature changes and other factors. However, in some special cases, the metal expansion joint needs to be used together with the inner sleeve to achieve better results.
Firstly, the corrugated expansion joint will produce relatively large resistance due to its long length in the case of large diameter, high temperature or high pressure. At this time, need to designing an internal sleeve to improve its flow performance. The internal sleeve (guide Tube) can be set before and after the expansion joint to make the medium form a certain streamline at the inlet and outlet of the corrugated expansion joint, thereby reducing resistance and improving the efficiency of medium circulation. At the same time, the guide tube can also eliminate the eddy current inside the expansion joint, avoid the mixing of the medium, and ensure the smoothness of the medium in the pipeline.
Secondly, the bellows expansion joint also needs to be used with an internal sleeve in environmental protection projects, such as flue gas desulfurization and denitrification. This is because in the process of desulfurization and denitrification, the medium contains a large amount of corrosive gases and particles, which directly enter the bellows expansion joint and accelerate the corrosion loss of the expansion joint, that will cause leakage and failure of the pipeline. The installation of the internal sleeve can guide the medium to a place outside the front end of the expansion joint, avoiding the direct effect of the medium on the bellows compensator, thereby extending the service life of the expansion joint.
In addition, in high temperature or low temperature environments, certain thermal stress will be generated between the bellows compensator and the pipe connection. At this time, it is necessary to design a guide tube for thermal isolation to reduce heat transfer. The guide tube is filled with high-temperature insulation material, to ensure that the bellows expansion joint not be deformed by the external environment.
In summary, in some special cases, the bellows expansion joint needs to be designed with an internal sleeve to achieve better results. Therefore, when choosing a bellows expansion joint, we need to consider its working conditions and medium characteristics according to the actual situation, and choose whether to match it with a guide tube to ensure the safe and stable operation of the pipeline system.
